One More Week

Last night, at 9:35 p.m. we got a call from our agency telling us to check our email for our final travel itinerary and details. We now have our hotel information and our in China flight times. We also have a day by day plan of what we will be up to in China for 17 days.

We feel like we are in a movie with all these documents overnighting back and forth and detailed plans of what we should do if something goes amiss while we are traveling. ("Call this person and wait by the airport airline desk or hotel lobby for them to call you back. " "Stay calm." Look for a sign with your agency's name being held up as you make it through customs")

We will be meeting up with our exchange students parents for dinner while in China. We have met his mom but not his dad and they don't speak English. They want to take us out for a dinner at a special place our student picked out with Kory's "picky mouth" in mind. That will be an adventure and a task to try and figure out. We will be so busy those first few days. We will be in meetings, exchanging money, seeing an Acrobatic Show, visiting the Great Wall, and a Cloisonne Factory. We will also visit the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and have a Hutong Tour.

We are in awe that we are able to have this adventure with the end result being a new addition to the family.

This week is just full of details. Kory has much to do at work(always) and has been going in at night to try and keep up. I have been trying to get all in order at home and with the kids, back to school, shopping, packing, medical papers in order for the kids, meals made for the freezer for my brother and his family to have while they are here holding down the fort, as well as meals for us when we get home. Working out details of what to pack for school lunch, how Hayden will get to and from school each day, etc. I want it to be as easy as possible for those that are helping us.

On Monday, we received our travel invitation by UPS. The kids and I were outside when he pulled in our driveway. You should have seen his face when I asked if I could take his picture. Complete bewilderment. But he agreed.

Stay tuned.....
